Find modern grace

Way of the quilt

I took these photos last summer after just taking off from Venice airport in Italy. High above the Italian countryside, the land looks like a fine patchwork quilt. Quilts have been used for centuries for comfort and warmth and to tell a story using the careful piecing together of fabric. Quilts provide protection and security, insulating us at least momentarily, from the volatility of the everyday. I wish sometimes that the land could be regarded in a similar fashion.

Somehow all seems right in the world from this vantage place.

Nice site, keep up the good work, my colleagues would love this. I read plenty of blogs every day, and for the most part the authors lack substance, but not in this case. I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog, I’m gonna bookmark this modernloom.wordpress.com web site. Thanks
